Gears of War 3 is a sci-fi third-person shooter, and the conclusion to the Gears of War trilogy in the current story arc. The events in this long-awaited sequel take place two years after Jacinto, humanity's last stronghold, is destroyed. The Coalition of Ordered Governments (COG) disbands after Chairman Prescott mysteriously disappears and seemingly abandons his forces. The COG remnants relocate to Vectes, a secluded island, in order to rebuild their civilization whilst a new foe, the Lambent, are threatening humanity's dwindling numbers. As the Lambent begin to invade Vectes, protagonist Marcus Fenix and his comrades retreat to the CNV Sovereign, a helicopter carrier, and take refuge at sea. There's also the threat of the monstrous Locust to deal with yet again, aswell as the surprising revelation of Marcos's father who appears to be alive and well after all these years. The story may not grab you like it ought to immediately, but there are still plausible scenes of excitement and emotional intensity due to the group of characters (especially Marcos, Dom, Baird and Cole) you know and love from the first two games of the series, with many newcomers proving welcome additions in the dark conflict between good and evil. But it's when Gears of War 3 closes in on the conclusion that it unleashes crucial plot developments and provides late drama to impact your reaction to the story of the saga, all in all proving worthwhile with frantic last-ditch efforts of struggle and sacrifice to reap the rewarding ending it pleasingly delivers after a very good lengthed experience.

On the way to that ending, brutal battles come thick and fast against aggressive and calculated opposition who know exactly what their targets are, arrive en mass in many menacing shapes and sizes, and let their instincts deliver the end product that they strive ferociously for without hesitation. Problem is, they probably didn't count on the badass group of COG soldiers that include Marcos Fenix, who has lots of emotions to deal with aswell as the onslaught of fierce predators trying to ruin the day further in which mankind is threatened to the edge of extinction. The cover-based gameplay remains solid after all this time, with some tweaks of course, and the execution methods on downed foes are satisfying each time you perform something more sadistic than before. An expanded set of execution techniques, that differ greatly depending on which weapon you have equipped when approaching the enemy, determine how they'll perish (usually in a grisly way). A favourite to do is to pick them up like an ordinary meatshield then tap the grenade button to tag them, boot them as far away as your leg possibly can, and then witness a gory explosion that resonates around the environment and showers you with a chunky mixture of debris and blood. And just as satisfying is watching one of your allies finish off an enemy in a violent way. Thankfully your allies (3 pursue the objectives alongside you at all times throughout the campaign) are adept at what they were trained to do - Efficiently take out Locusts and Lambent with gunfire or grenades, seek cover or shelter when necessary, and revive each other and yourself when fatally wounded to prevent a restart from the nearest checkpoint. They have a good advantage with a generous amount of health so not to become a burden en route to your goals, and it's always nice to have company that provide tactical distractions when needed to drastically alter the odds of the conflict.

The shooting mechanics are extremely satisfying, and offer some of the best bloody firefights seen this generation due to the weight of the weapons, the gory messes they produce, and the array of punishing guns that are greatly enjoyable to fire. Returning ones like the Lancer with it's noteworthy chainsaw bayonet on the end which is a pleasure to shoot, and the Longshot sniper rifle which pops skulls with precise shots are welcomed back into the heated battles, while new inventions provide lots of nasty ways to spill entrails and dismember limbs. The Retro Lancer (of enemy origin) is a unique variant of the military produced Lancer which has a spiked bayonet on the end. With the normal assault rifle you'll rev up the chainsaw on the end to cover the screen with thick red blood, but with this new gun you'll charge when holding 'B', and should you be in line with an adversary you'll impale them viciously on the end before casting their dead carcass aside with ease. Another is known as the "Digger", and it fires torpedoes under the ground to catch unsuspecting foes behind cover off guard to a timely detonation that ends their part in the fight. To name more would risk spoiling the pleasant surprises in store, but it's worth mentioning that there are some big guns that cause some big explosions, bloody mayhem and restore order to an outnumbered shootout fairly quickly. It doesn't take long to feel embroiled entirely within the setting, not only because of the beautiful locations that are splendidly detailed, but because of the emotional moments that are inevitable in a final instalment to a trilogy. A booming great soundtrack accompanies you through the hard-fought battles that seemingly never end, a wordless version of the song "Mad World" plays neatly in the background during a sad sequence that required sacrifice for progression in the story, and the last few exciting levels are capped off with powerful drama in the sound design that get the adrenaline pumping and the emotions rising.

The occasional boss fights, optional paths to take, and a very entertaining vehicle segment keep things at a very good pace, and there are promising moments during each shootout. Intel is hidden to encourage exploration of each corner which add some background to the plot, and while it isn't important, it's worth searching for. The brutality of war is nailed square in the face where violence and intensity is concerned, and each satisfying confrontation always provides sequences to relish as you thwart a threat that determines future as you know it. Regardless of what difficulty you play on, the struggles always feel fair, and never cause frustration which some games can, and effectively lose the fun factor they strive so desperately to echo through the levels. Gears of War 3 isn't one of those games, and right up to the last level you'll respectfully admire the balance in enemy types, amount and damage they cause, and while death feels like it's creeping up on you, an ally may keep you breathing longer to keep the excitement levels amazingly high.

So, it is proof that Gears of War 3 was worth the anticipated wait. There is tremendous attention focused at each aspect of the experience in every department, and the developer's should be proud to deliver such a profound and revolutionary third-person series with it's cool science fiction elements and military tactics thrown in for good measure. From the intense atmosphere, the likeable characters, the violent cover-based gameplay, incredible audio, smart foes and excellent controls, Gears of War 3 excels in every area and fully deserves the resounding acclaim it is received right from the very beginning of the franchise back in 2006. Five years later, the conclusion is here, and the final elements will be involved to establish something amazing in video game history. Gears of War 3 is simply an amazing experience, an epic conclusion to a revolutionary saga, and a game that will inevitably leave a mark for years to come.

Summary

Gears of War 3 is fantastic and leaves you wanting more. I first started off the Campaign and when I finished I did not want to stop. The story line is extremely deep. The task of finding Marcus' father was a thrill ride. There were moments in the game that were sad and emotion filled and some moments were just plain funny. I've never seen a better storyline since Assassins Creed 2 and Batman Arkham City. When I finished the Gears of War 3 campaign, I felt like the end of a 5 star trilogy wasn't enough to satisfy my needs. Now on to the multiplayer.
Multiplayer is a great experience and player friendly. The executions are brutal and entertaining, the game modes are really fun and makes party gameplay a great experience. I had some friends over playing Gears of War 3 and we couldn't stop playing for 2 hours straight. It was down right fun and enjoyable.
Horde mode is enjoyable like in Gears of War 2. I feel that it has been refined in this game and you feel attatched to it.
Beast mode is a stellar addition to Gears of War 3. Playing as the Locust Horde was a hell of a good time. Killing COG and Stranded was a great addition to this game and makes Gears of War 3 a game to be remembered throughout the years.
The rating of 9.5 perfectly suits the game and the critical acclaim of Gears of War 3 is accurate.

Summary

Gears of War 3, like its predecessors, is a third-person shooter that emphasizes the use of cover and squad tactics in order to survive combat situations. One interesting edition to the game is it's color, it is comprised soley of different shades of grey. The player's character can carry four weapons: one pistol, one set of grenades, and two other weapons, all which can be swapped with other weapons dropped by fallen foes or at stockpiles throughout the game, along with ammunition. Most weapons feature a secondary fire mode!
Gears of War 3 begins as Chairman Prescott unexpectedly arrives on the Sovereign. Prescott informs Marcus he needs to relay important information to the ship's senior officer, Captain Michaelson. The Lambent shortly launch a surprise attack on the ship during which Michaelson is killed and Prescott is mortally wounded. Before dying, Prescott gives Marcus an encrypted data disc and reveals that his father, Adam Fenix, is still alive but captive on Azura, a secret COG base. Marcus, Dom, Cole and Baird fight their way to the Anvil Gate Fortress, where Colonel Hoffman possesses the necessary equipment to decrypt Precott's disc. Upon arriving at Anvil Gate, Marcus and his comrades assist Hoffman's soldiers in repelling a combined Lambent and Locust assault!
Gears of war 1 and 2 was good and with a really good gameplay and graphics but gears of war 3 is the best game ever! I love gears of war series more than any game i have! I bought xbox 360 only for this game! I have played all three 1, 2 and 3 and i like the 3rd the best! The first and second gear of war was great but gears of war 3 was a hole new experience! It is also 3d compatible and has one of the best graphics! Its storyline is the best! And also the multiplayer is also really really awesome! According to me if you don't have gears of war 1, 2 and 3 - what are you doing?! And gears of war gives a hole new experience! And warning its highly addictive!

Summary

Gears of War 3 has four-player co-op for the first time in the series. Fully controllable mech suit called silverbacks which will be available for use in specific parts of the game, armed with a machine gun and rocket launcher. They have two operating modes, in assault mode it is controlled like a standard character, in stationary mode, they lock into position and deploy their armor, as well as cover for other Gears from their legs
There will be several new Locust enemies in the game, including the Savage Grenadier, the Digger Boomer, the Locust Siege Beast, the Armoured Kantus, Savage Kantus and Savage elite grenadier (Which are dlc characters), General RAAM and Elite Theron (RAAMs Shadow dlc characters), Savage Marauder and Savage Kantus (Fenix Rising dlc characters), as well as the return of the Berserkers and many more in game and to be released... There are also several new cog characters such as Clayton Carmine(The final addition to the well known Carmine brothers), Many new Coles such as thrashball Cole (Beta character also dlc character from Fenix Rising), Superstar Cole, Classic Cole as well as all the original cast in there old form and new form and many more from in game and dlc map packs such as and the horde command pack, RAAMs Shadow, Fenix Rising and one more not yet released. There is a season pass which allows you to get all the first four map packs and it also includes a liquid camo. There are a range of camos to buy and as well as the ones you get from each map pack. Additionally, the game introduces the new Lambent enemies, such as Drudges, Polyps, Lambent Stalks, and Lambent zerkers (Lambent Berserkers). There will also be new weapons; the Retro Lancer (a lancer with a bayonet attachment), the Digger Launcher (a gun that launches small digging creatures through the ground at high speeds and explode), the Sawed-off Shotgun, Incendiary Grenades and the One Shot (a heavy weapon that, as the name suggests, kills enemies in a single shot).
Three new playable female characters will be introduced: Samantha Byrne, Anya Stroud, and Bernadette Mataki (Horde Command pack dlc character with a few more; Bigrig Dizzy and Onyx Guard), a character from the Karen Traviss novels. Other new playable character include Jace Stratton, a battle-hardened soldier who appears in the comic series and is mentioned in the second game, and Griffin, leader of a group of human survivors called the Stranded. Hip-hop star Ice-T will voice the character of Griffin, while actress Claudia Black will be the voice of Samantha Hip-hop star Drake was originally to be the voice of Jace, but has since been replaced by Michael B. Jordan. There will be a arcade mode also featured in the RAAMs Shadow dlc, that will consist of mutators that you have to unlock that can make the game more fun, easy and harder if you want to spice up your game play but don't think there when you start the game you have to unlock them. Beast mode is a co-operative fun different side to horde mode where you get to play as the locust fighting of hordes of the cog which runs on time and money. Then you have your old school horde mode with a few extra tweaks such as fortifications which you have to buy to survive 50 long, exhausting, fun waves of locust with every 10 waves a boss wave. Then finally we have good old multiplayer 5 v 5 aside but in this game there are NO GLITCHES! As follows do to the non-stop updates well done EPIC. Finally to conclude this review there a stats and awards button on the main menu which allows you to check your awards, ribbons, achievements and yours and your friends stats on each specific game mode and theres also a upcoming events button on the main menu which as the name suggests it tells you what upcoming dlc there is and other details in the game. There are more unique features but my conclusion is that it is the best shooter, third person game ever 100/100!

Summary

gears of war 3 is one of the best games i ever played!
i really couldnt find a negative point in the entire game!
campaign is just amazing, great story, great characters bio and level design is like one dark mission and one light mission and you'll never get tired of this!
versus mode is really fun to play, especially co op!
hord mode is great if you play it with friends and you can continue it for years!
and beast mode is a natural disaster!!! really fun, even for watch!

so lets take a quick look at what you will experience during playing gears 3!!!!

STORY:

story begin right after the silance before storm and you'll get right into the action with a dream about marcus and anya and ... marcus father!

the story of gears 3 is more and more about personal feelings of each characters! dom looks quite but he lives in hell after he lost his love like that in gears two!

cole.t acting gentelly! trying to be a cool man and fellow as he were as a player and of course his nice jokes!!!

bird ... like always! its in his adrenaline to make fun out of everything!and his new fellow female friend of course! they'll make you smile many times with the jokes they making for each others and trying to knock each others out!

and carmine ... carmines are carmines so you'll have the same reactions from him like others you had.

marcus is like a wounded wolf ... and what dom will do in his finall mission make the salt fall on marcus wound ... .

anya, dont expect to see her far from action anymore! she's marcus soulmate and will support him as often as possible!

the story start when marcus and others will understand that marcus father is alive and was kept in a hidden city, its really great! the story will really take you down with it!

GAMEPLAY:
smoother than ever!
some new moves and some great new weapons which are so powerfull! a new snipe rifle which has the double power of a normal one and you can have a great tast of it in long rang battles!

the maps are all looks cool and some items are hiding here and there inside them!

the important thing about gameplay in gears 3 is the level designing of every mission! it will not let you keep up a good fight by following a simple tactice to the last mission, you really have to change them as often as possible cause with many new enemys{thanks to lambets} you cant take cover and start shoot in cold blood cause some enemys are able to send you to hell with one clear shot ... BANG! game over!

of course these elements looks tougher and tougher in higher difficultys!

GRAPHICES:
gears 3 really has the upper hand in graphices among all the xbox 360 games.
the details are just crazy in every maps and every weapons really design more detailed than ever!

faces are so great too, the reactions and lips moves are all adorable in gears three, you will remember cole face after he went to stadium{where he was playing-home feild-} for so long!the moody face of marcus is better than ever and you can see how broken dom is ... you really can feel it and how others trying to support him emotionally!

and of course smokes and fires and explotions moments are all got better.

its what you always expect from a gears of war game, its pure gears of war, as simple as that!

SOUND AND VOICE ACTING:
gears of war take place in a fantasy world and of course making sounds feel real in sucha world is harder than a game like battlefield or ... , for example when you put a rifle in a game like gears of war you cant make it sounds like a m4 or ak47, you have to make something which sounds like a rifle and still looks believable when you'll hear it! and gears of war series done a great job on that!

when you firing with a heavier weapon you can feel you released a more powerfull shot than a normal weapon and when you're firing with a pistol you can feel how light you shots are too!

lucas voice acting is brutal as their nature and lambets are close to them but they have their difference too, like when you're killing them.

voice acting of each character in your party is really great, each one has their own style and you really can feel the difference between their emotions!

LAST WORD:

in my opinion gears 3 is the best one in the series, i loved first two so much too and seperating them for me is "mission imposibble" {except that worm mission in gears two}, but i can say gears of war 3 is in first place for me and after it gears 1 and third goes to gears 2!

you will enjoy this game for so long and keep playing and unlocking new items.
THATS FOR SURE.
