Summary

I'm having a absolute blast with dc on-line,a very deep and immersive quality title, with that said,if you like comic books even in the slightest form, then you will fall in love with the very familiar heroes and villains and the not so familiar ones, make your own super hero from fighting styles to super powers, this is just chock full of combinations that you can come up with, just amazing, the scope of the game is just plain ridiculous,I never really got into world of Warcraft but this to me is more action based stupid fun lmao, very accessible, but very complex at the same time, you wont be disappointed at all,if your just curious or huge comic book fan, well then this the game for you my friend,I see this has gotten a lot of negative reviews, maybe their not into comics or just wanted a new game, don't know why all the hate, with the whole super hero games out ,like infamous 2, batman, ironman, prototype, green lantern, comic book to big budget movies, that's out some our ok to straight garbage, but people miss the big picture you can create your own superhero bottom line there's no other game out for the ps3,that allow you to do this, plus the universe is growing and will continue to expand in the near future ,soe has dedicated servers,I never experience any lag at all ,and the world is filled with heroes flying running jumping just doing their own thing, sometimes I just sit and watch other people interact withe universe just for the kicks, and marvel at the combinations of costumes and gear that the have came up with ,the world is beautiful and colorful,so Sony keep up the good work and continue to give us true super heroes more content I know you will I'm one of your biggest fan now,and to the people on the fence on buying this game jump off and enjoy this great title, and to the people that's in the universe all ready let's team up and kick some @$$

When you first fly in you like it but after a week your out of content!

First I will say the graphics of this game is the best for any superhero mmo , any awards it gets for the graphics are well worth it, Id give this game a 5 just for the graphics but to many other things are bad.

There is way to many bugs in this game , they still haven't worked out most that makes you DC and freeze in the open city.

There has been some raids added but the new content they say they gave us are rehashed content that were low lvl mission instead of new things for us to do.

The sound is good in this game as well but most of the time it doesnt even run cause it gets turned off by bugs

Really i had kept hoping and hoping they would have put out more content but they haven't, there is potential for this game and the ideas but if SOE doesn't change who is running the game , it will be ran into the ground :/

There are better ways to spend your time than playing DCUO

Summary

DCUO is a pretty game, with vast cities to play in, though many parts of the areas are completely empty, while others are swarming with enemies where you wont have enough space to breath. These parts are simply chaotic, in fact they are so chaotic and random that they will soon turn you off from playing further because the only thing this resembles is a mess. It's far from technical perfection, you'll be falling through the ground and getting stuck behind walls almost frequently, the camera will be getting locked up preventing you from seeing anything, and poor microphone support will have you screaming in agony.

The lack of variety is what ultimately brings DCUO down. Pretty much the only thing you can do is fight. The exploration and player interaction is kept to a bare minimum. At first the combat will feel engaging because there is no auto attacking, but soon you will notice how the game simply isn't challenging at all. You'll be going from one zone to another without even bothering to look what your skills do, mashing random attacks the whole way through. The game simply won't offer you a reason to care.

DCUO does deliver on brainless action, but the whole RPG element is pretty shallow. You can pick a few powers to fight with, but most of them seem all the same which don't offer any real strategic play, you just use them in a random order and you win. The quests are very repetitive, you'll be defeating thugs and saving civilians wherever you go, so playing the game will get old much sooner than you will hit the level cap of 30.

Character customization in style is pretty neat, but you cannot really make a legend out of yourself. You will be doing the exact same things the other players are as well, repeating the boring repetitive missions over and over until you reach the maximum level, and if you already haven't, stop playing it at that point.

There is some fun to be squeezed out of this free MMO, for a weekend or two at the very least, but the 10 hour download probably isn't worth your time. The client is 17 GB in size, and you cannot download it in the background, so you will have to leave your console connected the entire time.

At it's gameplay core, this MMO isn't all that different from the usual asian farm-fest MMOs, and since it lacks a lot of features to keep you busy, you're better off playing some other feature rich and smaller in size MMO out there. It's hard to imagine anyone who is not a complete DC nut playing this game for longer than a couple of sessions.

Summary

I am an mmorpgholic so games like this are like my bread and butter this one is nothing special sadly. It is a beautiful game if you can get it in full rez and it has a large map and also pvp and pve worlds which is a plus but still i find nothing that really grabs me with this game. It's not bad and its pretty easy to learn but other than that if you are a usual mmorpger then you've seen this song and dance so many times before. All in all not much to say about it other than its worth it if you like DC and have the friends to play it with. There was that specific line in my headline that made me chuckle a bit so ill give them an extra .5 for that. *note* by no means am i saying its a bad game i just have yet to see anything particularly awe-inspiring about it I WOULD recommend this game to newbs to the mmorpg world that like the superhero/villain gig and even to vets who want to tune it down a bit from the hardcore lands of WoW

Fun, addictive game but it comes with a price..

Summary

I love playing DC Universe Online and everything about it is pretty good. I do think the chat box needs to be bigger so you can actually read what people are saying and the game glitches sometimes. I've been stuck in the floors and even been in space! Also it took 20 hours for it to download but it was worth the wait! I love the game and would recommend to anyone who loves superheroes. My girlfriend doesn't play video games ever and she loves to play this one, and watch when she has to (lol). The fact that this review has to be at least a length of eight hundred dang characters is really lame. I was only at 588 at the end of this sentence. DC Universe Online is great and you would enjoy it if you played. Don;t let the download time discourage you! Make sure you read the online manual for the game also, it really comes in handy! It makes game playing even more easier!
