Summary

Gameplay: The beat soccer game has to have good gameplay. It's what makes the soccer games good. Like this game the feeling is smooth and one has much control over everything. It makes what I think is the best part of this game great.

Graphics: Keeps the game smooth and what is a level above Fifa. It makes the game look smooth and good looking.

Sound: Good crowd, good Fx and the solid finish to cap it off.

Value: Value is down because you know why. No Xbox Live. However, it is made up for because it's is one of my favorite party-games. I know that it's not technically a party game, but whenever we have Halo 2 System Link partys it's a nice break at about 3 in the morning.

Overall: 9.6 out of 10

Summary

the soccer is amazing, but is most when you can fix your player and play with him, and also more, if you can fix a famous player like ronaldinho, roberto carlos, ibrahimovich, etc. well, this game gives you the opportunity to do that, is really surprising the way that you can control the player like if it was real, and also you can see how the other players get anger with you when you make a goal, you can also look how the audience is screaming to your team, the narrator is always in the move, he talks in a way that look like it was real. the graphics, my god, you can see how the players hair is moving, ¬°you can see the muscles of his leg!, its really annoying the way this game catch you, and if you love the soccer like me, do me a favour, buy this game.

Summary

This game is the best in the series xo far. I got this game for Xmas and I knew I wasn't going to have to take it back. I put it in and started playing and it was better than the last one! The graphics were better, the gameplay is better (much better than FIFA) and much more realistic ( it is no longer possible to beat someone 10-1) and even the terrible commentary is a bit better. This game has also got the master league option which is a bit like a fantasy league with teams from multiple countries mixed together. This game is great but it has got some bad points. On FIFA, all of the teams have got the licence so there are real players and shirts. On this, only about half of the teams have the official players and shirts. Another problem is the menus, they aren't as good as FIFA and they have crap music but apart from these minor things this game is great. If you have a choice between FIFA and this choose this every time!

Not that bad... but not that good either.

Summary

Considered, when it was released, the best football, [or soccer to you americans but the sport's real name is f-o-o-t-b-a-l-l] Winning Eleven 8 was praised by fans and highly acclaimed by critics yet all of that was just hype. I'll try to wright this as brief and direct as possible so let's go right to the point: the gameplay. I thought it was not bad, in fact it's quite enjoyable, but I did expect a lot better. Here's my big complain about the gameplay: you run for one nanosecond longer you lose the ball's possession, you make a slight wrong turn and you lose the ball again. Frustration, frustration and a controller thrown against the wall. Also the refereeing can get very frustrating [frustration is the word of order in sports games] specially when you play at a 5 or 6 stars difficulty level because most of the times when your opponents do some incredibly brutal tackles [yes tackles] it goes by like if nothing happened. Regarding the sound, you better turn off the commentators as it will only make you feel more frustrated and angry. Contrasting with the comments, we have the fantastic and very well arranged adept's chants that create a great atmosphere. Overall: Great for a while and good multiplayer yet by far not perfect [but certainly better than any FIFA ever made].

Summary

Just noticed that the game I am reviewing is the sequel to this game, no wonder its a lot better then the gamespot review, and screenshots! The game black citadel 2 isn't even listed in gamespot, why is that?

First off reviewing anything for the mobile platform is a difficult endeavor. There is just so many different mobile phones with different screen sizes and memory, cpu speed, and java versions. So game makers have to make many versions of the same game for different phones. And usually the phones with small screens have the worst graphics and smallest games missing story text, whole levels, characters, and audio, that the bigger screen versions mite, have. As an example might and magic was reviewed on gamespot with the ultra high end version for 320x240res screens, on my old phone it didn't look anything like the screenshots posted, granted my old phone only had a 128x96 res screen and was missing story text, all the side characters, and it only had 4 levels instead of 15. This type of game skimping led me to get a new phone, a sony ericsson w810i with 176x208 with 32-bit color and java-3d acceleration/support. I recently got a copy of The Black Citadel, and was really impressed with the graphics the game had. it looks nothing like the screenshots on this review. Everything is detailed right down to the armor, to the multiple creatures you fight on your quest. Either the low screen version was done horrible or they have since updated the game, because a lot of the things mentioned in the gs review are not what it was like in my version. There is a story background in my version it has a scene on a large boat and 3 half-screen pages of text that introduces the story in perfect English The game starts you of f being shipwrecked on a strange continent (reminds me of morrowind opening but not good like that, its on a phone ) and the inhabatents don't seem to trust you. In order to advance in the story, and get access to towns and villages you need to do quests to proove your worth, meanwhile you learn about your past and the sinister plot brewing by the main baddie throughout the game There is a nicely detailed world map and very detailed dungeons with puzzles and multiple enemies, traps and people to rescue. I was really impressed by this game. It feels very oldschool which is great for a phone game, the mobile platform has too few rpgs as it is and it is a shame. Anyway, the combat is innovative, why true it is whack-a-mole in spirit, it is more complicated then that, multiple enimies will appear on different places in the 6 posistion spots, and you have to attack them by pressing the corrisponding key before the yellow bar under them drains if, not they get a hit on you, and it gets frantic on harder enimies. You can switch between magic and melee by pressing the 7 button and have instant potion buttons for health or mana. The inventory and status system could be better, as it is now you don't get different weapons and armor, you just get power upgrades to your existing armor, later you will get more armor peices to fill out the paper doll, but there is no choice its only one armor for that spot and the upgrades. You also don't have control over attributes on level up or class selection, which would make it better, but it has a lot to offer besides that and this doesn't take away form the expearence at all. My version had sound effects for sword hits, and vibration for when you take a hit yourself, plus it had a music score that changed depending on where you were, All in all this game is fantastic for a mobile game, and is a good choice for any rpg lover out there. Make sure you get the better graphics version if your phone can handle it. Also look elsewhere then the phone provider sites for games, as there choices are slim, and they never have many rpgs or ported imports.
