Summary

Oh, who doesn't love Tekken games back in the day, facing off against you relatives or friends on Tekken was one of the main things I did back in the day. And mainly it was this game, cause I only had Tekken 2 and 3 and 3 was usually what I picked to play. Now most of you guys would already know the storyline of the Tekken games, cause it barely ever changes, which I love the fact that it doesn't. Now lemme tell you how many hours Ive spent playing this game, I was addicted to it, I couldn't get enough of it. Now this game has variety of modes, like survivial, story mode of course, V.s. mode, time trials, practice modes, and a bunch of other modes that you could have fun with. Now my love for the Tekken series grew once I found out you can play as Panda and the other secret characters in this game. Now graphically the game was good, gameplay was fantastic though, alot of replay value with this game. There was really nothing bad or negative about this game, and for once Gamespot actually agrees with me on this one. Tekken 3 is by far the best Tekken game Ive played nest to the original Tekken, and actually Tekken is actually my favorite 3d arcade stye fighting game, next to Mortal Kombat. Epic win for whoever made the the Tekken series, and this game!! xDD

Summary

Tekken 3 is such an amazing fighter and one of the best games in the Tekken series.Featuring 25 characters to play as with some extra modes to play for more than just fighting.Tekken 3 will defenitly keep you busy from time to time and it's really that good. Many of the character's in Tekken 3 are some of the most memorible in the series. While most of them are brand new with characters like Jin,Law and Eddy as well as some old characters from the last 2 games like HeihachI,Paul and Nina. The gameplay for Tekken 3 is pretty awesome. The fighting engine is still some of the best i've seen in a 3D fighter as the game has more than just punching. The counter system works well. You are also able to counter-attack punches as well. The game also feels much faster as well compared to the first 2 games. The fighting is fun and it will defenitly keep you busy from time to time. After you beat one character as well you get a cutscene. They are very entertaining and it's fun to look at them.Their's also a bit more to be offered rather then just fighting as well.Their's a 2D beat'em up Sidescroller known as Tekken Force as well. It's fun and it translates the fighting engine well into a 2D game.Their's alot of enemies to fight on screen and their's a boss to fight at the end as well. It's a fun little distraction and it defenitly shows that the game has alot of variety.Overall Tekken 3 is a awesome fighting and it's pretty damn fun.If you can track this game down you will love it alot.

Summary

It's been a while since I reviewed a Tekken game. After playing 6, I felt like something was missing, as if the series was starting to get aged. However, Tekken 3 is easily the best game in the series, a game that if the developers looked back at, they'd surely get some inspiration.

In it's era, Tekken 3 has excellent graphics. To add to it, the game reacts smoothly, unlike some fighters that tend to have slow reaction times, which makes for an excellent game experience.

With around 20 characters in all, it's hard to get bored so Tekken 3. Newcomers to the series like Jin, Eddy, Xiaoyu and others are very fun to play, all with diverse movesets. New to this game is a wave-based survival game, Tekken Force, where you fight through armies of fighters, which is quite fun to play.

One of the things that sets Tekken 3 apart from other fighters, and most of all the other games in the series (including the newest ones) is that it has Tekken Ball, a beach volleyball like game that is just plain fun. Games like that, and like Tekken Bowling from Tekken Tag Tournament, add alot of diversity to a game that in the end, makes it way more fun. Makes me wish they put something like that in Tekken 7, when it is released.

All in all, Tekken 3 is an amazing game, even by today's standards, and if you find it, you should definately pick it up.

this game is just so amazingly good fun.you have never seen anything like it since tekken 3,,

Jin, revived by the Devil Gene within him (because after Jin's mother had gone missing following an attack from Ogre, Devil returned, branded Jin's left arm with a mark, possessing him), reawakens and makes quick work of the soldiers, turning his attention to Heihachi and literally smashing him through the wall of the temple. Heihachi survives the long fall, but Jin, in mid-air, sprouts black, feathery wings and strikes Heihachi one last time. He then flies off into the night, leaving his bewildered grandfather staring after him.

Cheers!

Tekken 3 is one of the best, if not the best fighting game of all time.

Summary

Graphics: 8/10
Gameplay: 9/10
Sounds: 10/10
Length: 9/10
Story: 8/10

Tekken 3 is often regarded as one of the best fighting games ever and definitely as the best Tekken game. Critics love it, players love it, Tekken fans love it, I love it. So what makes Tekken 3 so special? Let's find out.

The storyline is pretty basic Tekken stuff, but it works. The evil god of fighting, Ogre has apparently killed Heihachi Mishima's grandson's Jin Kazama's mother (Jun Kazama). Jin went to his grandfather so that he will train him to become stronger and he will be able to defeat Ogre. Heihachi's world domination instinct once again comes alive and Heihachi accepts only to use Jin and the other tournament's fighters to lure Ogre out. If Ogre is defeated, Heihachi will take and use Ogre's blood sample to make a gene that will make the old mastermind the greatest of all, unbeatable.

The graphics were actually pretty impressive in their time. The characters look a bit blocky, but still pretty good and the backgrounds are pure 2D, but they look decent. It has aged, but Tekken 3's graphics still look pretty good.

What hasn't aged is Tekken 3's gameplay. The fighting system still works perfectly and beating opponents is genuinely fun. The movesets have expanded and even though compared to fifth Tekken, Tekken 3's gameplay may seem slow, but it's still really enjoyable. The game modes include normal arcade where you unlock classic endings, time attack where you beat opponents against the clock, survival mode where you fights until the health bar runs out, team battle where you fight a set of up to eight characters with your team and the versus mode which needs no explanation. The two more special modes are Tekken Force and Tekken Ball. In Tekken Force, you play a classic side-scrolling beat 'em up adventure defeating Heihachi's soldiers. It is really simple, but it's also fun. Tekken Ball is a real surprise and one of my favorite fighting game modes of all time. You pick a fighter and then you play volleyball with a soft, medium or hard iron ball. When you perform heavy strikes or special attacks, the ball becomes electric or flaming or whatever the character's trademark is, and it makes small damage. The other way to reduce opponent's health bar is to simply hit the ball into the opponent's side. It's simple, but damn, it's addicting! The old favorite characters are almost all back including Heihachi, Paul, Law (even though it's Marshall's son), Nina, Yoshimitsu and more. Shame that Kazuya isn't in! The new characters are young school girl Ling Xiaoyu, original King's follower King II, the main character Jin Kazama, tae kwon do master Hwoarang and the energetic capoeira master Eddy Gordo. Playing as Eddy is huge fun and all the new characters introduced here will become iconic in the series. Other new characters that are unlockable and will also become iconic characters are Bryan Fury, Gun Jack, Julia Chang, Mokujin, Panda and... Ogre.

I gave the sounds a perfect score and for a reason. Tekken 3 has a ton of one of the most memorable tunes ever and even the sound effects get stuck in your head. There are no voice actors, since the fighters only have losing screams and winning taunts, but who needs them?

Tekken 3 has a total of 21 characters and it will surely keep you hooked with it's numerous game modes and you really wanna see the funny endings the player can unlock.

OVERALL: Tekken 3 is the best Tekken game and that is a big feat. Good graphics, great gameplay, big collection of game modes and unique characters form an amazing fighting game experience. Pure greatness.

+ Pros: Gameplay, great fighters and lots of game modes, good graphics, Tekken Ball, amazing sounds
- Cons: True Ogre is weak, no Kazuya
